New Addiction...

So for Christmas my family got a Wii.... and Wii fit plus. It is my new addiction. My little sister and I play it all the time. My favorite is the bubble balancing game (I don't know what it is actually called) and the hula hoop game. Today me, my little brother, and little sister did the 10 min. run. No we didn't have to follow the dog in this one, you just run in place for ten min. It tracks how far you run. Supposedly I ran a 6 min. mile today... pretty impressive! :P

Basically it is all I want to do now.... Why didn't we get a Wii earlier???

Christmas 2009

So this year is the last Christmas (at least for the next 3 years) that the whole family will be together. Next year, I will be gone, and the 2 after that Cameron will be gone... And then who knows where we will all be there.

We had our Simons family Christmas party on Christmas eve at my aunt and uncles house. We had a yummy turkey dinner, with lots of good treats. We had our traditional White elephant gift exchange. Usually we do a kids one, and an adult one... but this year we combined them. We had like 25 people participating. The little kids were getting anxious for their turn. This year the three gifts that were being "fought" over were a Martini shaker (which at first we were all confused of why people wanted it, but we later found out it had $10 in it), 2 beauty school mannequin heads, and the Pomegranate 7 up. We also played two games. The first we had the words "Merry Christmas" and had three minutes to find as many words as possible with using only the letters in Merry Christmas. The second game was scrabbled words, and we had to unscramble as many as possible.

On Christmas morning we didn't start opening presents till almost 9am... That is like 2 hours later than normal. It was weird. I was the first kid awake, and I didn't even wake up till 8:20. Grandma and grandpa came over, and they were there to watch us open presents. That was fun.

One of the gifts I gave Ashley was a board with a soccer quote on it...
She is in love with soccer. Here is a picture of it.
After we played a lot of our new games. We got a Wii, so we played that for a little while. Then we played a game called backseat drawing and balderdash. Then we went to Carolyn and James house to give them their gifts. After we got back from their house, we had dinner, then spent the rest of the night playing Wii fit plus! It was a blast. Overall it was a great Christmas eve and Christmas day!

School is out for the.... next 1 1/2 years!!!

Yay, today I took my last final of the semester.... Which means no more college for at least a year and half while I go on my mission. Granted and I am taking a 4 week long CNA class in January, but I'm not counting that.
Oh my goodness it feels so good to be done.... am I scared that I will be behind when I get home, yes, but I can cross that bridge when it comes!
Now all that I have left to focus on is getting ready for my mission, and enjoying the last 3 months I have with my family and friends before I leave.... (Holy Cow, I leave three months from today!!!!!!!)
Haha, and one last thing... Christmas shopping. I have been putting it off till I was done with finals, and now that I am done, it's time to start shopping!

The call is in the mail!

So last night at FHE my bishop told me that my call is on it's way. I should get it either tomorrow or Thursday. I am so excited!!!!! All day when I think about it, I get a huge smile on my face. I can't hide my excitement.... But I also get butterflies. I am so excited to find out where I am going and when, but also so nervous!
And I'm going to blame my excitement for my call, for my lack of sleep, and the poor attention span I have had today (worse than normal)... And that is also why my school worked saw the negative affect of that poor attention span today. Good thing I don't have school tomorrow!! (Thank goodness I will be getting a year and a half break from school... I need it!)
The only downside is that my call is coming to my apartment, and the mail here doesn't come at the same time everyday. Sometimes it comes as late as 5:00pm! NO GOOD! But I guess it is okay, since I have work from 12:45-4:30. So I wouldn't be able to get it earlier anyways.

I was sitting in my institute class today, which is Mission Prep, and I leaned over to my friend and said, "So it's weird, now I can't look at the map and say I wanna go here, or it would be cool to go here, because my assignment is already made, and on it's way to me!" Then she said, "Where do you think you will go?" I couldn't answer her. I have only thought of where I think it would be cool to go, or where I don't think I would do very well. She didn't like that I couldn't give her an answer, but I couldn't. Then she said, "What apostle do you think was looking at you picture, and got the inspiration of where you are to go?" Again, I was shocked. I knew that it was an apostle of God who spent time on me, thinking of me... HOW COOL!!! I again, didn't have any idea... But I do know that all the 12 apostles and the First Presidency has to look at it an approve of it, so I guess they all kind of did.

The papers are in....

So I thought I would start a blog, that my mom could update for me while I'm on my mission, and the few people who care can know how things are going. SO...

My mission papers are in. I'm (not so) patiently waiting for my call to come in the mail! I'm just so excited to know where I'm going, and to start preparing everything to go... aka, go shopping for my whole new wardrobe.

A year ago I would have never even thought I would be where I am today. I thought I would be in a nursing program by now, and on my way to seeing the light at the end of the tunnel... or school. :) But that is not where I am. I am taking my last prerequisite class, and waiting for a mission call.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. He puts people into our lives at the right time... and at the time you may not understand why things are going the way they are going, but once you get past them, and look back, you realize why everything happened the way it happened. If everything would have gone how I thought it would back when I was finishing up high school, I would be in a nursing program right now. I would be able to be going on a mission (or at least not at this time), because I couldn't leave the program. At the time it frustrated me, and I didn't understand why everything was going wrong.... But now I am really grateful it did. :)
