I love to see the Temple, I went there yesterday!

Yesterday (Jan. 22, 2010) I went through the Mount Timpanogos Temple to recieve my Endowment! I was really nervous before going, but it was a good experience.

It was really cold and snowing hard (and had snowed a lot while we were in the temple), So we didn't get a good picture with me in front of them temple. But There are some cool pictures of the Temple, and me with my parents, brother, and sister-in-law.

(ps, I couldn't get the pictures to go in the order I wanted..... so they are just up here randomly!)

Soccer Tournament in Las Vegas.

Ashley's soccer team, Celtic Storm U15, had a soccer tournament in Las Vegas Jan. 15-18th.
We headed down early Friday morning, and got there about 1 hour before her game. He team tied their first game 1-1. After the game we all went to Round Table Pizze for dinner.... Wow, I forgot how much energy a group of 14 year old girls have...

Their second game was at 11am on Saturday. We got up, ate breakfast, and got ready to go to the game. They tied again. It was 2-2.... it was an interesting game. The referee was a little whistle happy...

Then at 3pm the played their third game.... They lost 4-0. :(  But Ashley got to start, so that was cool!
After this game we all went back to our hotel, and got ready. Then we headed to Ceasars Palace to go to the Cheese cake factory for dinner.

Oh boy, that was an adventure. First my dad couldn't find the parking, so after driving around for a while he headed to the Bellagio to park. Well Ashley and I were sick of being in the car, so we all jumped out of the car, and my dad went and parked. The rest of us started walking to Caesars Palace. We had never been there before, so we didn't know where to go. Well apparently we were about as far away from the Cheese cake factory as possible. We had to walk through the whole casino, and pretty much the whole mall. Finally we got there. Luckily we were the 2nd group out of our 4 to get there. We waited for everyone else to get there, and then we got sat. Cameron ordered a hamburger. When it got here, it was HUGE....

I didn't think he was going to be able to fit the whole thing in his mouth to take a bite.... but he proved me wrong. After we were done eating, we went out and sat by the fish tank waiting for everyone else.

This sting ray was really, really big!!!

On our way out, this show started... so we watched it. It was kind of weird. It was King Tritan and two of his kids. I got kind of bored.

As we were walking back to our car there was this huge toy store. This was the wood horse in front of it.

There were cool statues throughout the mall part of Caesars Palace.
On our way back to the car, we had to walk through the casino again... All I'm going to say is DON'T WALK THROUGH A CASINO IN VEGAS AFTER 9PM!!!!

We stopped and watched the water show at the Bellagio on our way back to the car. It was really cool. It is amazing how high the water goes. There has to be SO much pressure forcing the water up!!

Pretty flower things on the ceiling in the Bellagio

here is a cool horse that is in the lobby at the Bellagio.

Sunday morning her coach was told that they were out of the tournament. So instead of paying a butt load to stay another night, everyone decided to go home. We left at about 10 or 10:30am. About 2 hours later (we were just about to St. George) we got a phone call from Ashley saying that her coach got a text saying they might still be in the tournament. Everyone stopped where they were on the road, and waited for the final verdict... While we were waiting we decided to go to the St. George Temple visitors center (since we didn't go to church).... Well if you read the previous post, you will know the rest of the story!

Over all it was a fun trip.  It reminded me again of why I hate Vegas (or at least the strip and the area around it). And I had NO sleep, and got a Cold :(  But I'm glad I was able to go and support Ashley and her team!

Lesson learned.... Go to Church!

(pictures and a post about the weekend will come later.... )
So this weekend was spent in Las Vegas at my sister Ashley's soccer tournament. They tied their first game on Friday. Tied their first game on Saturday, and lost their second game on Saturday. If they were still in the tournament, then they would play again on Monday. If they were out, we were going home on Sunday.
Sunday morning came and we talked to the coach. He called the people at the tournament, and they said, "Your team is out." So everyone headed home. When we were about 2 hours outside of Vegas (about St. George), we got a call from Ashley saying that their coach got a call while he was in sacrament meeting saying that the team might actually still be in. So everyone stopped where they were, and waited till we got another call. While we were waiting, we went to the St. George Temple Visitors Center. While in there we got the call saying they were out. So we were back on our way home. We got home at about 6:30pm. Ashley was in a different car, and they got home at like 7:30. When they were about 20 min. away from home they got another call saying there were actually still in the tournament. But since almost the whole team was gone, they wouldn't be playing. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Wow, how unorganized could the people running the tournament be?
Well after the fact, we all had the thought, "We should have gone to church!"  My family and a couple of the carpool cars that had the girls in it were all planning on going to church. But when it came down to it, everyone (on their own) decided not to go; we would just go home.... If we would have gone to church, we wouldn't have been home already when we got the call saying we were in. We were all planning on going to church at 11-2, then it probably would have been about 3 when we were on the road (which would have been 4 Utah time).  That would have meant that we would have only been a few hours away, and could have turned around and been there to play.
Who knows what would have happened. Maybe they weren't supposed to play, and that's why EVERYONE who was planning on going to church, all at the last minute decided not to go. Or maybe because we didn't go to church, that was their consequence. Maybe it is just "bad luck" or a bad call on leaving early. Whatever the reason..... We were actually in (after being told twice that day we were out), but all left, so we didn't get to play anyways.
Moral of the story.... GO TO CHURCH! :)

Great Week!!!

67 days!!!!

So this was a great week! First I got my Full use temple recommend, set the date to receive my endowment, and got to hang out with lots of friends. Thursday I hung out with 2 of my oldest friends (one since 3rd grade and the other since 4th grade).  We had a yummy breakfast, and talked. It was fun, and so good to see them again! Then today I went to the Salt Lake Temple with my roommate from 08-09 Abby! It was really cool I had never been inside before. It is AMAZING all the details... and to think pioneers did it way back before they had modern tools.... so cool!

Oh I also tried going shopping for mission clothes... BOO!!! Not a good experience. I am so picky with clothes in the first place, so picking stuff I normally would NEVER wear is not fun.... Did I mention that I hate shopping for clothes!?!

Random thoughts of the New Year, and my mission....

75 days.... 75 days till my life changes forever!  I only have 2 1/2 months left until I enter the MTC... I can't believe it.

Everyone keeps telling me that I have FOREVER to wait before I leave. Most people leave within one or two months... well let me tell you, 75 days does not seem like forever!!!!

But I am really excited, and ready for everything to start rolling. I have basically all my shopping for clothes and everything still. I still have to get my Endowments (Which I was hoping I could get on Jan. 8th, but I think I'm going to have to wait till the 22nd (The next available weekend I have) since my records haven't been transfered to my home ward yet, and I haven't gotten my Full use temple recomend yet.).

Anyway, I can't believe it is 2010 already! Where did 2009 go?!?!?!
In 2009 I had a lot of new experiences....
  • I made lots of new friends (Which made for lots of laughs and good times!)
  • I turned 20
  • I went 80's dancing with Abby and Luke (never doing that again.... 80's music is not my thing)
  • Had 4 pet fish that lived for a long time
  • Wore shorts outside in March (over spring break)
  • Went to a Color Festival

  • Finally got to go to my favorite temple... Oakland California
  • Went to Alcatraz
  • Went to San Fransisco
  • Became a Phlebotomist
  • Was the Assistant Girls Camp director in my ward (so much fun)
  • played on a water trampoline (also so much fun)
  • went late night bowling a few times
  • Moved in with 3 of my best friends from high school
  • Shared a bedroom with someone for 4 1/2 months (which I hadn't done in 13 years.)
  • Decided to go on a mission
  • Got my mission call
  • Got to witness two of my best friends get engaged (Shaili and Shelley)
  • Went to California for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, and had to share one shower with 25 people....
  • moving 3 times
  • Learning to live with some "interesting" people
  • and the list goes on and on... I just can't think right now.

2010 will bring even more adventures
  • Becoming an legal adult! (21 baby!!!)
  • Going on a mission
  • going to the East Coast
  • Receiving my Endowment
  • Becoming a CNA
  • And many more experiences that will require me to step out of my little Utah "bubble" and my comfort zone, and grow into a better, stronger person.

(more photo's from 2009)

HERE IS TO A GREAT YEAR PAST, AND A GREAT YEAR TO COME!!!!! :)

babysitting pictutes...

Here are some more pictures....

Bryton took this picture. The flash was to strong, so this is the best I could get it to look. But I thought it was kind of cute still.

Thyse, Bryton, and Maili setting up Yazee Jr. This is one of many games that we played.

Yes I lost to a 3 year old in Candyland... not once, not twice, but three times..... Kind of pathetic.

Thyse ran behind the couch and said, take a picture of me under here. it was funny!

Bryton and Maili went to their friends house, so Thyse and I played candyland and took silly pictures. He is such a cute and sweet little boy!

Silly faces! :P
