Lesson learned.... Go to Church!

(pictures and a post about the weekend will come later.... )
So this weekend was spent in Las Vegas at my sister Ashley's soccer tournament. They tied their first game on Friday. Tied their first game on Saturday, and lost their second game on Saturday. If they were still in the tournament, then they would play again on Monday. If they were out, we were going home on Sunday.
Sunday morning came and we talked to the coach. He called the people at the tournament, and they said, "Your team is out." So everyone headed home. When we were about 2 hours outside of Vegas (about St. George), we got a call from Ashley saying that their coach got a call while he was in sacrament meeting saying that the team might actually still be in. So everyone stopped where they were, and waited till we got another call. While we were waiting, we went to the St. George Temple Visitors Center. While in there we got the call saying they were out. So we were back on our way home. We got home at about 6:30pm. Ashley was in a different car, and they got home at like 7:30. When they were about 20 min. away from home they got another call saying there were actually still in the tournament. But since almost the whole team was gone, they wouldn't be playing. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Wow, how unorganized could the people running the tournament be?
Well after the fact, we all had the thought, "We should have gone to church!"  My family and a couple of the carpool cars that had the girls in it were all planning on going to church. But when it came down to it, everyone (on their own) decided not to go; we would just go home.... If we would have gone to church, we wouldn't have been home already when we got the call saying we were in. We were all planning on going to church at 11-2, then it probably would have been about 3 when we were on the road (which would have been 4 Utah time).  That would have meant that we would have only been a few hours away, and could have turned around and been there to play.
Who knows what would have happened. Maybe they weren't supposed to play, and that's why EVERYONE who was planning on going to church, all at the last minute decided not to go. Or maybe because we didn't go to church, that was their consequence. Maybe it is just "bad luck" or a bad call on leaving early. Whatever the reason..... We were actually in (after being told twice that day we were out), but all left, so we didn't get to play anyways.
Moral of the story.... GO TO CHURCH! :)
