Hello everyone-
Well transfer calls DIDN'T come again. So it looks like 6 more weeks in Sanford with Sister Brovont...... I'm super excited that I will be able to be here for Bro. Richard Crispin's baptism. It is in week 6 of this new transfer!!! Last night we went and stopped by Richard. We didn't know why we were going over, we just felt we should. We got there right after he had gotten home. We found out that as he was driving home he felt like he should stop by one of his friends and talk to him about church stuff.... but he didn't. Then we showed up. So he gave us the guys info, and we will be going to see him soon!!! It was also really neat, because before we left Richard said a prayer. He was so grateful/thankful for us sisters coming and teaching him. He was so thankful for all that we have done to help him learn of our Savior and his True church. It was a really good experience. Other investigators have prayed and said thanks for having the sisters teach me, but his prayer was so heart felt and genuine. It made all the long days of tracting, and lack of teaching pool so worth it! He really is a miracle find. He was so prepared to receive the gospel, and he is SO excited for his baptism. I have a feeling, that if he stops smoking early enough, his baptism will be sooner. Right now he has a goal to be done smoking by the end of Aug. so he can have at least 2 weeks of being smoke free before his baptism. When we taught him on Tuesday we asked him if he was excited for his baptismal date. He was like, "Yes, September 15th... if not sooner!" :) It's so exciting. Sis. Loral Patten is coming along. It is taking her a lot longer to gain this strong love and testimony of the gospel, but it is definitely coming! She is still working towards September 24th! :)
On Tuesday we were out tracting, and we were walking down a drive way from a house, and a motorcylce cop came driving up to us with his lights on. Some one had called the cops on us, for being a suspicious car and people walking the neighborhood. It was really funny!!!! So I was able to make our District Leader, Elder Dastrup, and his companion, Elder Tidwell happy, because we got the cops called on us. haha. After district meeting on Wednesday we were eating lunch as a district. Elder Lowe always asks us questions. The elders this week were asking us all kinds of funny questions. They think we are not normal at all. I spent like 10 min. trying to convince them that we are normal people. They think we get pampered and stuff..... NOPE WE DON'T. We get the same treatment as the elders. It's funny!!! On Friday we meet a lot of mean men. the first one started yelling at us as we were ending a very plesant contact with his wife. He was like, "Jehovahs get off my property." We said we weren't Jehovahs. then he was like, "Well then 7th days or (all these other churches)". We told him who we were, and he kept yelling at us. His wife was trying to get him to stop. he then started yelling how we were trespassing and he was going to call the police. I was like, "We are trying to tell you to have a great day with your family and leave, so stop yelling at us!" (I shouldn't have said that, but i did....) then as we were walking away he yells to his wife, "They are such freaks!" hahahahhahahahaha, yeah we laughed over that one a lot. Then later that day we were at a door talking to a lady. she hadn't said she wasn't interested or anything yet. So we were still talking. Then her husband comes and pushes her out of the way, and starts yelling at us. He comes out onto his porch and looked like he was going to hit us or something. So once again, we turn and walk away as he is telling us to get off his porch and leave. so I say, "We are leaving!!!" :S yeah, my mouth got the better of me that day. haha, but once again we had a good laugh about him. We don't understand why people are mean to us. We are like the nicest people that could come to their door..... I guess it makes them feel tough. hahaWe had many miracles of being lead to the right place, at the right time, to find people. none became new investigators, but we were able to share the gospel with them, and plant those seeds for the future!!!!It was a good week, and I am excited and ready for a new one!!!I'm getting my foot x-rayed this week, so next week i will let you all know if it actually healing right or what not! :)
